Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is reportedly looking to appoint a new head coach ahead of the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Hyderabad-based outfit will be desperate to bounce back after some terrible campaigns in recent years.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the worst-performing teams in the IPL in the last three seasons. They have not made it to the playoffs since IPL 2020 and have constantly finished at the bottom half of the table since then.

In IPL 2021, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished at the bottom of the points table when eight teams were participating in IPL. In 2022, their performance was not better either as they once again finished in the eighth spot in the 10-team competition. For IPL 2023, the 2017 IPL winners appointed Aiden Markram as their new captain but the move did not pay off as they finished at the last spot.

Sunrisers Hyderabad wants a new coach:

After appointing a new captain earlier this season, Sunrisers Hyderabad wants a new head coach, according to Cricbuzz. It has put Brian Lara’s position as head coach at risk. The report stated that while nothing is official as of now, the franchise is not too satisfied with the former West Indies skipper’s coaching methods.

In case, Sunrisers Hyderabad decides to part ways with Lara, Andy Flower could be a potential option. The former England coach recently parted ways with Lucknow Super Giants and is reportedly in talks with Rajasthan Royals. As per media reports, another IPL franchise is also in talks with him at the moment.

Sunrisers Hyderabad could be the other team. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have become the first team to appoint a new head coach ahead of IPL 2024. After ending their association with Flower, the Lucknow-based outfit has appointed Justin Langer as his replacement.
