Rajasthan Royals have moved on from the tag of low-budget teams and they have transformed into the team with the most expensive players in the auction. They have still relied too much on their overseas players which could be a concern going forward and they must start weighing more towards the Indian contingent.

They had a decent IPL 2021 but had missed a lot of overseas players with as many as four players being unavailable. They did their best with the players they had and a lot of credit should go to Sanju Samson for the way he has led the team. Here is the Rajasthan Royals Predicted playing XI if only Indian players played in the IPL.

Rajasthan Royals Predicted Playing XI If Only Indian Players Played In The IPL:

Manan Vohra:

Manan Vohra was one of the best talents in the domestic circuit when he scored consistently for the Punjab franchise but he isn’t having the best of times recently. He was given a lot of chances until getting dropped from the playing XI and he managed to get 42 runs in the 4 games he played. He played some extraordinary shots and started well on most occasions but couldn’t capitalize on the starts.

Yashasvi Jaiswal:

The youngster from Mumbai who rocked the stage in the previous U-19 world cup has had a tough time after that and hasn’t been performing up to the expectations. He got his chance in this edition in the fifth and he managed to hold on to it with 66 runs in 3 games. He still has a long way to go and he needs to make sure that his talent turns into performances.

Sanju Samson(C)(WK):

Sanju Samson was appointed as the captain of the franchise this year after releasing Steve Smith from the side and Samson had stepped up for his side in his captaincy debut by scoring a phenomenal century this year but couldn’t take his team above the line. His consistency was always a question mark, but he managed to keep it aside by scoring 277 runs in the 7 games he played.

Anuj Rawat:

Anuj Rawat is a promising youngster who just got one chance in the playing XI this season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and he did not have a hit at all. The wicket-keeper batsman had a fine season with Delhi in the domestic games and was spoken of highly by legendary batsmen Kumar Sangakkara from the dugout. He needs to be given chances to prove his abilities.

Shivam Dube:

The big left-hander from Mumbai, Shivam Dube can come in at five for the Rajasthan Royals and he hits a long ball. He is one of the rare breeds of medium pace all-rounders going around in the country and he can be the sixth bowler on the side. Dube was dropped from the Indian limited-overs squad last year and he needs to perform consistently to be back in reckonings.

Riyan Parag:

Riyan Parag had an excellent Syed Mushtaq Ali season but he couldn’t replicate his form in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals. He is very young still and the 19-year-old from Assam has been playing a crucial finisher role for the team. He needs to be more consistent as he managed just 78 runs in the 7 games he played. He can bowl a bit of spin too and is one of the safest catchers on the side.

Rahul Tewatia:

Rahul Tewatia’s impressive performances in the last IPL  for Rajasthan Royals earned him a maiden call up to the Indian squad but this IPL has been relatively very quiet for him and he has scored just 86 runs in the 7 games he played. His leg-spin has been very ineffective picking up just 2 wickets but he still remains an integral part of the side. He will have to come to the party soon for the Rajasthan Royals.

Shreyas Gopal:

Shreyas Gopal has been a wicket-taker for the Rajasthan Royals consistently and it was unfair on him to be dropped from the playing XI after some inconsistent performances. He has a decisive wrong one and is a very handy batsman down the order. The Karnataka all-rounder is preferred ahead of Mayank Markande with his ability to contribute with the batting too.

Jaydev Unadkat:

Jaydev Unadkat has been in and out of the side so far and this has been the best IPL season for him since the 2017 edition for the Rising Pune Supergiants. He picked up four wickets in four games and he bowled really well in the powerplay for the Rajasthan Royals. He was far more measured in his approach and was able to be economical. The left-arm seamer will surely make the playing XI given his experience in IPL.

Kartik Tyagi:

Kartik Tyagi played just one game this season as he had some niggles and it was important for him to have some game time back. He looked in good bowling rhythm and hit the 140kmph mark consistently. He is on the radar of the Indian selectors and is expected to be the future of Indian bowling. The youngster was very impressive in the previous IPL season for the Rajasthan Royals.

Chetan Sakariya:

Chetan Sakariya had one of the stories to remember while entering the tournament and the 22-year-old left-arm seamer completely took all the fans by surprise with his medium pace. Playing his first IPL game, he managed to pick up three big wickets and pulled out a stunning catch too for the Rajasthan Royals. He has shown that he has the goods to deliver when the team needs and is in contention to be in the Indian limited-overs squad for the Sri Lanka tour.
