India and England will collide in the IND vs ENG 1st ODI 2025 at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. The IND vs ENG 1st ODI will start on 06th February 2025 at 01:30 pm IST. The hosts will be high on confidence given their recent 4-1 T20I series win vs the English Team.
This will be a massive series given how the future of World Cricket shapes up in the coming weeks as both teams will have a final chance to Test their strengths and weaknesses ahead of the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Team India will also be high on confidence given the return of their two tallest Talisman, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in limited-overs cricket. Both stalwarts retired from the T20I format after the Men in Blue conquered the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.
However, both the batsmen have been severely out of form in the cricket that they have played. Their Test form was under heavy scrutiny throughout the whole tour of Australia and after that, both players were instructed to participate in the Ranji Trophy.
Their Ranji Trophy return was also shambolic as neither Rohit nor Virat could get up to a big score. Now, all the Indian fans would want the star batters to regain some form before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
As far as England are concerned, the team was badly crushed in the recently concluded T20 series as they looked out of sorts. It is their first limited-overs assignment under Brendon McCullum's coaching and it will be interesting to see how things progress under the new coach.
India stamped its authority in the T20I series with a commanding 4-1 win over England. Now, the focus shifts to the three-match ODI series, set to begin on February 6.
With stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, India aims to continue its dominance. Meanwhile, England will look to bounce back with the help of key players Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, and Joe Root.
So far, these two teams have met in 107 ODIs, with India winning 58 matches and England securing 44 victories.
