Team India are set to tour Zimbabwe later in August for a three-match ODI series. The senior players in the side have been rested with Shikhar Dhawan set to lead a young group of players for the three- games. A total of 15 players have been named by the BCCI for the tour.

The first IND vs ZIM ODI will be played on August 18, the second on August 20 and the third on August 22. All the matches will be played in Harare. Zimbabwe are currently playing an ODI series against Bangladesh.

In head-to-head encounters in ODIs, India and Zimbabwe have played 63 games with each other. India have won 51 games while Zimbabwe has won 10 matches. 2 matches ended in a tie. India last played an ODI series against Zimbabwe in 2016. There were talks of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul being named in the Indian squad for this IND vs ZIM series but both have been rested. While Kohli is struggling with his form, Rahul has not yet recovered since being affected by the dreaded covid virus.

Both Rahul and Kohli are expected to be available for the upcoming Asia Cup. The Asia Cup begins just five days after the IND vs ZIM  series ends on August 22. Meanwhile, in this article, we will take a look at three Indian players who might play all the three ODIs against Zimbabwe.

Dhawan being the captain of the side will play all three ODIs barring any injury concerns. He recently led a young side against West Indies and led them to a clean sweep against West Indies. He scored 97 in the first ODI, 13 in the second and 58 in the third. The Zimbabwe series is another opportunity for him to get some runs under his belt.
