Sunrisers Hyderabad have 68 crores in which to pick and choose players in which they want to invest in the future. The IPL 2022 mega auction is perhaps the most important for this franchise keeping in mind the near future. This is most likely to be the last of the mega auctions and the side is running a race against time to build a good squad.

Kane Williamson (INR 14 crore), Abdul Samad (INR 4 crore), Umran Malik (INR 4 crore) were the franchise retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad keeping in mind the future. It is now that they will have to complete their squad with a galaxy of players to choose from. Therefore, ahead of the auctions, here is a list of probable players that the franchise might target.

Openers: Jason Roy, Devdutt Padikkal, Wriddhiman Saha

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow will almost be impossible to replace for the franchise, However, the likes of Roy, Saha and Padikkal can be the ideal replacement. In Roy, they can have an overseas opener who can consistently play for them. The southpaw and the veteran Indian wicketkeeper are also good options. Padikkal especially has risen up the ranks quickly and can be a good buy for the franchise.

Middle-Order- Steve Smith, Suresh Raina, Dawid Malan

The three names can be good options in the middle-order given their experience of playing international cricket. All three players have the T20 game in them. They can anchor the innings and also play with an attacking style. The side historically has been very dependent on their openers. Going forward the batting order is something that they need to invest in and sort out.

Spinners-Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Adil Rashid

Rashid Khan was the constant and the only name in the SRH spin attack. The franchise needs to have at least a few more options in their ranks. Bagging the Indian duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, they can secure their future. Adil Rashid can be a good investment with him being a leg spinner and an able replacement for the SRH veteran.

Pacers-Mohammed Shami, Avesh Khan, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult

Bhuvneshwasr Kumar was the Indian pacer who was a regular in the Sunrisers Hyderabad line-up. However, he has lost his form in recent times. The management and the think tank needs to invest in the pace-bowling group keeping the future in mind. Mohammed Shami and Avesh Khan are Indian pacers that the franchise should definitely target.

Among the overseas choices, they need to enter the dog fight if they want to rope in either Cummins, Rabada or Boult. All these three pacers will be on the wishlist of almost all other franchises.

All-Rounders-Mohammad Nabi, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar

They have a few choices in terms of all-rounders as well. Nabi was a part of the franchise and is familiar with their culture. Shardul Thakur given his recent performances will be a hot property. Washington Sundar can become a good buy for the franchise, He can open the batting, bat in the middle-order and be a handy off-spinner as well giving the franchise enough options to use him.
