Most Catches in IPL

This list contains the names of the players who have taken most catches as outfield players in the IPL. There is a saying that goes 'catches win matches' and it perfectly highlights the importance of catches in the game.

The importance of taking a catch only increases in T20s, a format where the room for error is extremely small. In a format where a team gets only 120 deliveries in an innings, even a small error could prove very costly. In the IPL, several players have made a name for themselves thanks to their stellar catching record.

The players have delivered on the field irrespective of the conditions and their positions on the field. More often than not, the players have changed the course of the game with their exceptional catching skills.

At present, Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli holds the record for taking most catches in the IPL as an outfield player. The former captain has taken 114 catches in the IPL so far. He is followed by former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina. Known as one of the best fielders during his playing days, Raina finished his IPL career with 109 catches.

Former Mumbai Indians allrounder Kieron Pollard and Chennai Super Kings' Ravindra Jadeja occupy the next two positions for taking 103 catches each. Rohit Sharma complete the top five. The former Mumbai Indians captain has taken 101 catches so far.
