Most Sixes in IPL

This list contains the names of the players who have hit most sixes in their IPL career. Six-hitting ability is one of the most crucial skills needed by a player to excel in the shortest format of the game. While the players can score quickly even without hitting sixes but to have the ability to clear the boundary is definitively a big positive.

Player who can hit sixes at will not only become a fan favourite but also possess the ability to shift the momentum of the game at any given time. T20 cricket is all about power-hitting and six-hitting is more or less synonymous with that.

Over the years in IPL, one has seen a number of players leaving the cricketing fraternity awestruck with their six-hitting prowess. 

Currently, Chris Gayle holds the record for hitting most sixes in the IPL. The former West Indies opener, who played in the IPL from 2009 to 2021, hit a staggering 357 sixes in the IPL. No other player has even managed to reach the 300 sixes mark so far. Gayle hit those 357 sixes in only 142 games.

India star Rohit Sharma is at the second spot for hitting 280 sixes in 257 games. He is followed by Virat Kohli who has hit 272 sixes. MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers complete the top five. Dhoni has hit 252 sixes while de Villiers has hit 251 sixes in the IPL.
